Water Damage

Although the FireBoard’s outer case is weather resistant, exposure to inclement weather may contribute to water damage of the internal components.

  • We recommend letting it dry out for 48-72 hours before attempting to turn it on again, then see if it will reconnect. If it does not you can mail it into us and we can fix it under warranty.

Troubleshooting Invalid Readings

If you’re seeing invalid temperature readings on your FireBoard Spark or FBX2, this could be caused by moisture or debris interfering with the device’s internal circuitry. Here’s what you can do to resolve the issue:

Steps to Fix Invalid Readings:

  1. Air Dry the Device:

    • If the device has been exposed to water, allow it to air dry for 3-5 days in a dry, well-ventilated area.
    • Do not use rice to dry the device, as debris could enter the ports and cause further damage.
  2. Check the Probe Ports:

    • Try plugging in a temperature probe to the affected port to help clear out any debris or moisture.
  3. Inspect for Debris:

    • If you suspect debris in the ports or around the device, carefully clean it using a soft brush or compressed air to remove any blockages.

When to Contact Support:

  • If invalid readings persist after drying and cleaning the device, it’s best to reach out to FireBoard Support for further assistance. You can contact them at info@fireboard.com.

Preventing Future Issues:

  • To prevent moisture from causing invalid readings, avoid exposing your Spark or FBX2 to rain or excessive moisture, especially around the ports.
